John Curran Artist

A painter, designer and writer born in County Westmeath, Ireland in 1957, John Curran studied at Dun Laoghaire School of Art, the National College of Art and Design Dublin, and at Trinity College, Dublin.

Working in oil and acrylic, drawing, printmaking and photography, his individualistic work is known for its imagery, use of colour and wide thematic range.

Favouring the development of themes and ideas in long explorative series of paintings and drawings over many years, and moving between media and materials, John Curran’s work has a subtlety and complexity that rewards close and repeated viewing.

John Curran’s paintings are represented in Ireland’s state collection, as well as in private and corporate collections. He welcomes commissions, please get in touch here. There are also some of his pieces for sale via Herberts.ie.
